Derek, it's great to read the blog and keep up with what's goin on back home. I definitely miss y'all and are so happy to hear all God is doing. Y'all are in my thoughts constantly and it's gonna be great to be back home in a little over a month. Have a safe trip as you head to Belize, and I'll look forward to reading your updates. it's looking like facebook, derek's emails & text mssgs, then the websites are the order in which we should concentrate our communication efforts ... i'm curious though ... not one mention of twitter ... no one tweets all the live long day?

Thanks for the comment Angela. I have been struggling with what to do during the time the band wraps up practice and the time the service starts. Using the screen for announcements and such is a great idea (and other shameless self promoting plugs). I do like some of the thought provoking short videos and music videos, but they are hard to come by and in short supply and I probably over use them at times. I just need to mix it up more.

You all are doing great with the comments. Keep them coming if you have them. Thanks to everyone who has participated so far. - Steve

i found the church via the website. and i get my info about church goings on via facebook. i'm really looking forward to the website getting a facelift, tummy tuck and maybe even some calf muscle implants (??). and that podcast thingy will be great. whatever that is....

i did have an idea about church announcement-type things. i was thinking that during the time as people are arriving, the announcements could be shown on the screen-- kind of like ya'll did for the haiti food buckets (i think it was the food buckets).

maybe even throw up a plug for the reworked website once it's launched (including the blog/twitter/facebook).

that screen would be good publicity for community groups, too... (if people bother to look at it when they are arriving)

Business cards are GREAT! I found out about The Vine by seeing a card on the mirror of my hair stylist about a month before The Vine even opened doors. I started talking to her about it and counted down the Sundays until the first service. We've been there ever since!
